SEO Statistics That Should Motivate Your Business

I'm sure you've been told that you need SEO to be successful online. You may even intellectually know that it will help your business. Often though, that's not enough. We still see major website redesigns by non-clients that have completely overlooked SEO. In this day an age of the web, that's simply unnacceptable. Here are some excellent SEO statistics to consider and hopefully motivate your business to act. On Average, 12 BILLION Searches are conducted online per month in the U.S.. (Comscore) There are approximately 318.9 million people living in the United States. That's about 38 searches per month, per person. Since most babies, small children, and elderly folks don't do a lot of searches, I'd guess that number is much higher per online person. You have to ask yourself, what percentage of those searches are people looking for the solution you provide. Where are you in the rankings? 60% of all organic clicks go to the first 3 search results. How to Rank Better in Google

If you have a website, you've no doubt asked yourself at one point in time, "how do I rank better in Google". If you don't quite understand, by rank I mean showing up when someone performs a search on Google. Ideally you will show up for search terms that are related to your product or service in some way so that if that searcher visits your website from the search, you can provide an answer.

How Content Marketing Pieces Tie Together

Content marketing is more than just, let's write an ebook and toss it on our website. To get the value from your content marketing efforts you must generate leads. To get leads you need traffic...then you need that traffic to convert. On a high level the biggest things involved are blogs, CTAs, landing pages, forms, email, and of course the content marketing offer itself. Blogs help to attract the visitors, CTAs direct those visitors to landing pages, the landing pages "sell" the offer, the forms collect information, and your emails nurture those leads until they become sales.

Turn Website Visitors Into Customers Without Ecommerce

If you are a business and you have a website (and you'd better...), your first question should be obvious: How do I turn website visitors into customers? This question gets a little trickier for businesses that don't sell directly online through ecommerce. Companies that sell a service or products that don't lend themselves to being sold online (e.g., custom manufactured goods, high dollar/volume sales, products or services with long sales processes) may be left wondering if there's any hope for generating real customers through their website. The Short Answer... Absolutely-YES! A business that doesn't sell through ecommerce can absolutely turn website visitors into customers. The actual sale won't happen online, but acquiring the initial lead, nurturing them down the sales funnel and ultimately getting them to make a buying decision can absolutely happen online. If you've read many of our posts you've no doubt heard us talk about Inbound Marketing at length. One of the reasons we ...

How Inbound Marketing Changes Keyword Research for SEO

When I first entered the online marketing world one of my first tasks was keyword research for SEO (search engine optimization). Back then nobody was talking about inbound marketing. We were primarily focused on getting more people to the site. We'd start by researching the business itself, the products/services, the business' website, the industry, the competitors, and the business's website. After having a good understanding of the business and environment a big list of related keywords was created, usually broken down page by page. These keywords were primarily focused on what the business had to offer or the industry. Some of the keywords were short, broad, and general while some of the keywords would be long tail keywords. Example: refrigerator vs energy efficient refrigerator.
