How Content Marketing Pieces Tie Together

Content marketing is more than just, let's write an ebook and toss it on our website. To get the value from your content marketing efforts you must generate leads. To get leads you need traffic...then you need that traffic to convert. On a high level the biggest things involved are blogs, CTAs, landing pages, forms, email, and of course the content marketing offer itself. Blogs help to attract the visitors, CTAs direct those visitors to landing pages, the landing pages "sell" the offer, the forms collect information, and your emails nurture those leads until they become sales.

Turn Website Visitors Into Customers Without Ecommerce

If you are a business and you have a website (and you'd better...), your first question should be obvious: How do I turn website visitors into customers? This question gets a little trickier for businesses that don't sell directly online through ecommerce. Companies that sell a service or products that don't lend themselves to being sold online (e.g., custom manufactured goods, high dollar/volume sales, products or services with long sales processes) may be left wondering if there's any hope for generating real customers through their website. The Short Answer... Absolutely-YES! A business that doesn't sell through ecommerce can absolutely turn website visitors into customers. The actual sale won't happen online, but acquiring the initial lead, nurturing them down the sales funnel and ultimately getting them to make a buying decision can absolutely happen online. If you've read many of our posts you've no doubt heard us talk about Inbound Marketing at length. One of the reasons we ...

How Inbound Marketing Changes Keyword Research for SEO

When I first entered the online marketing world one of my first tasks was keyword research for SEO (search engine optimization). Back then nobody was talking about inbound marketing. We were primarily focused on getting more people to the site. We'd start by researching the business itself, the products/services, the business' website, the industry, the competitors, and the business's website. After having a good understanding of the business and environment a big list of related keywords was created, usually broken down page by page. These keywords were primarily focused on what the business had to offer or the industry. Some of the keywords were short, broad, and general while some of the keywords would be long tail keywords. Example: refrigerator vs energy efficient refrigerator.

The 5 Best Questions When Hiring an SEO Provider

SEO (search engine optimization) is not a luxury for your website, it's a necessity. The purpose of SEO is to generate traffic from search engines that can be converted to leads that can eventually be nurtured into a sale. If you look at SEO as only a means to generate website traffic and not help you achieve your overall business goals, you are doing it wrong. Some businesses might attempt SEO in house, while many others will look for an SEO provider to implement the strategy. It's clear that most business owners don't really know what SEO is, so how do you know if you are hiring the right SEO provider? Asking the wrong questions will just get you answers with a bunch of technical jargon that confuses you even more, asking the right questions will help you feel comfortable with your decisions!

Improve B2B Sales With Online Leads

Every business has their ups and downs with sales volumes whether they are seasonal, cyclical or just random. Every business wished this wasn't the case!! We work with many B2B companies that have a sales staff that relies on the same tactics they have used for years. Some have a "big show" they attend every year. Others rely solely on referrals and have for 20 years. These sources of new clients are very predictable and competitive. For that reason, many are looking to improve B2B sales by generating leads online. Know Your Best Buyers If you are going to generate leads online, you should focus on generating leads that convert into best buyers. If you can control it (and you can), why would you generate any other lead type? We want the best of the best! The most effective way to generate leads that convert into best buyers is to spend the time to research and produce your Buyer Personas. I won't dwell on what they are here because we've written about buyer personas several times in ...
