Read moreThere are a ton of excellent web marketing resources online for succeeding as a web marketer. Here are 4 great reads I found this week: How To Write A Tweet: 8 Formulas To Get You Started This great post by Diana Urban, Director of Conversion Marketing at HubSpot, is a great "getting started" resource for small businesses. I know many of the SMBs that we meet know very little about Twitter and very rarely use it. That's unfortunate because it's often a much better platform for B2B companies than Facebook. Give it a read and start using Twitter more effectively. Why Your Business Needs A Google+ Page Too This post was a guest post on the always valuable Duct Tape Marketing Blog, by Diana Gomez (Diana's were great resources this week :)). Read moreLike most things these days, you get what you pay for in time and/or money with web marketing. We get inquiries from time to time from solopreneurs with a good idea that needs marketed online, and they are often shocked to find out the volume of effort it will take to make their idea shine online. Read moreWhich feels better? Being sold to or being educated? Which makes a car salesperson and buying experience more appealing and tolerable? When they ram paperwork with a sticker price offer in your face repeatedly, or when they spend as much time as possible with you to make sure you understand every aspect of the cars you're looking at? The answer is obvious in both scenarios. What kind of buyer is more likely to make a positive buying decision? An educated one, or a skeptical/defensive one?

Read moreYesterday we lead a training event in Hermitage, PA on creating a 12 month web marketing strategy for a business. The SBDCs of Clarion University and Gannon University sponsored the event and we are grateful for their assistance! There was a lot shared in a short amount of time, but from the feedback of the attendees, they walked away with a lot of valuable information...which is the goal! However, we don't want this to be something that the businesses get excited about and then a week later forget the excitement and their long term plan of creating an effective web marketing strategy. We do these events for free and all we ask for in return is that the businesses work to succeed and implement some of what we teach them about. Before I go too far, I should also mention there was coffee, donuts, and a wonderful lemon pound cake.
